This vision is inspired by the example of our gurus Sri Swami Sivananda Saraswati, Sri Swami Satyananda Saraswati and Swami Niranjanananda Saraswati. In humility we offer this dedication to our masters who continue to inspire us on our spiritual journey. We wish to express our heartfelt gratitude for the teachings they gave to us and to the whole humanity, showing the way to the more meaningful, harmonious and happy life.

It was Swami Sivananda who declared that the work of disseminating spiritual knowledge is the crowning glory of human activities: “This is the greatest yajna of yoga.” Following in his guru’s footsteps, Swami Satyananda spread the yogic knowledge far and wide to the four corners of the world, to guide and uplift all yogic aspirants and those in need, no matter where they are. Fulfilling the mission that his guru left to him, Swami Niranjanananda continues to inspire and guide us, showing through example how the vidya of yoga should be lived in all its purity, integrity and sense of purpose.

It has been felt that now is the time to present the teachings of our gurus in a new, easy to access and easy to understand form. The content of the Bihar Yoga Wiki is produced in a collaborative way by the worldwide Bihar Yoga / Satyananda Yoga family. Intent is to present the full range of yoga knowledge.
